Well, its come to this.

I've been a member of the escapist for a long time but I recently googled my name and it has 3 pages of Warcry and my account. This isn't good. I'm trying to get a good job and employers will google my name and see all of this.

How do I delete my account.

The Escapist and WarCry share user accounts. That means if you register to either of them, you'll have access to the other.

That said, you can email editor@escapistmag.com asking for account removal.

Keep in mind that deleting your account will not automatically remove your Google search results, which may remain there for quite some time.

Once its out there its out there. just deleting your account won't make a difference.

I would have to say unless your doing goverment work which I pretty sure they use other things then google to background check their employees.

You should be fine.

P.S. Employers get hundreds of applications daily for jobs I truely doubt they have time to google you. Posting on a video game site unless work applying for a anti-gaming company. If they google your name the only thing that could hurt you would be news posts of criminal activity.

Out of curiosity, why would an employer care about your internet life? Surely being active on forums is a plus for any social aspects of employment.

Don't put your real name in your profile. Case closed.

Why would it matter if your potential employer read what you've written on the Escapist? Unless it revealed that you were an aggressive, semi-literate troll with serious issues with certain demographic groups or an over-arching hatred of the world in general, in which case about a third of the Escapist population should nuke their accounts when they put in their first job application.

Alternately, as Chi said, take your real name and info out of your profile.
