Ya I would really like a post telling us when your done I mean I want to order the preorder thing today if I don't win so knowing when you guys are done sending out the email would be nice.

Just to let you know, when you get the pre-order, it's not an automatic in to beta. You have to wait for them to open up the beta to pre-order people, which will happen some time soon i hope =).

Yeah, I think the preorder is kind of misleading...here's a quote from an email I just got, since I purchased the pre-order:
"
As a pre-order Richard Garriott's Tabula Rasa customer, you are
eligible for exclusive in-game content and Beta Test access.

We will contact you at this e-mail address again once pre-order
customers are able to enter into the beta.
"

The update on the contest page says the winners have been notified guys. Even if you are one of the lucky winners, you're probably going to want to pick up a Pre-order at some point...its got a lot of shwag in it (notably, a 3 day head start on retail after beta wipe).

If you're really jones'n, there is also the Fileplanet TR beta access for the paid members. That'll cost you at least a month of membership, but would get you into beta right away while you wait on pre-order beta to open.

Welp, I'm officially bummed. I figured with 100 keys available I stood a good chance of actually getting one this time...guess not. (Have been in just about every other contest as well, and no dice). I went ahead and purchased the pre-order thinking I could get in tonight and help "Find Richard!" as it says you'll get (among other things):
"A serial code for unlocking bonus in-game content and beta access"

as it turns out, after you pay your money you get an email that informs you that "beta access" does not mean you get into the current closed beta:

"As a pre-order Richard Garriott's Tabula Rasa customer, you are
eligible for exclusive in-game content and Beta Test access.

We will contact you at this e-mail address again once pre-order
customers are able to enter into the beta."

This borders on misrepresentation and false advertising, and is nonetheless dissapointing. (I hope ncsoft marketing changes this in their advertising)

For what its worth, Eu Phorix, I agree with you..it should be more explicitly stated that the pre-order grants access to the upcoming beta phase. I'm not sure if this will make you feel any better or not, but from my understanding, the giveaway here on Warcry was also dependant on NCsoft giving the winners further instruction on when their access starts...but you didn't pay us anything ;).

The "good" news is, if you choose to view it as such, is that instant gratification is available via the Fileplanet Promotion, which does grant immediate access until the 18th(during server hours).

actually...and unfortunately...Murphy is having a hay-day with me today.

I did in fact go ahead and pay my 6.95 to get the beta key from fileplanet...and registered the key with my account...guess what? It appears that the pre-order key blocks my beta key, as my account is still blocked. Of course after spending 30 minutes hunting down a phone number for NCSoft support, I find they're closed (presumably for the weekend)..so I'm just really having a bad day.

When it rains, it pours. :/ Can you make a brand new PlayNC account on a new email addy to make use of the Fileplanet beta? Its temporary anyways. Bear in mind, Im not NCsoft support...just trying to be helpful.

Unfortunately, the key has been used already and locked to that account..so no. [sniffle] Appreciate the thought...have been crying all over the boards (including the TR internal forum)..and hope some miracle will happen to clear this up so I can get in this weekend. Hope to post back here one final time with good news.

Well! Good news! (finally!)

Let me just say, I'm totally impressed by TR support from their internal (private) forums. I have my doubts about NCSoft support in general, but for TR the techs have been super responsive! (Reminds me of the good ol' UO days)

Good news is I can get in! Woohoo! I can get my fix!. Still not sure if this is temporary, or what, and not sure if all pre-order can get in now, or if it's my fileplanet getting me in..but either way, for now I'm gonna be a happy alien killin' camper! Gratz to the contest winners, hope to fight along side some of ya' in game!

Sorry guys, didn't mean to mislead anyone...I was just aping what I saw on the contest page. On the plus side, it'll be interesting to see how eu_phorix reacts if he finds out he won after all ;)

Also, without getting into hazy NDA issues, I will point out that I removed the warning tag on the Pre-order announcement that said the bonus pack didn't grant immediate access to the beta, "at this time". My ways are mysterious and unknowable, and the reason why I did this is something for you to ponder at length...unless you happen to have anything better to do.

I'm not under the NDA so I can say this, pre-ordering gets you into the beta right now, as of 8/11.

April, the Community manager, just sent me an email about being accepted and welcoming me. Shortly after Warcry sent me information about winning a key, very prompt! Thanks Warcry!

Have you even played the game?? IT LOOKS AMAZING!! I have a high end pc and the game is beautiful... The guns, the sound, the environment, the players ... It all looks AMAZING!

I got the mail from warcry and one from Tabula Rasa asking me for info but they have not sent me anything in like 2 days now.

Has anyone got access to the preorder beta yet? Chaos_theory said as of 8/11 but ive preordered it and i just get the message that ive been blocked and to check my play hours or something when i try to log in on the tabula rasa menu.

Thats not really something we can address here...we're not PlayNc support. I suggest you look on whatever beta forums you have been directed to, and check for posted server schedule.

No internal support issues or questions can, or will, be answered on these boards.
